You Don’t Know

August 8, 2017
You Don't Know ~ Photo by Patrice

Of course you don’t know
The sadness, the heartache
I shouldn’t know.

You see the life
That seems to glow.

Sometimes it’s a lie
Sometimes you see I cry
But
Then if course

You don’t know.

Up in the bustling sky
A thousand clouds go flying by
Not one
Not one ever asks why.

The sky is beautiful
My gaze sees magic beyond belief.

Wishing for nothing
For I have all I need.

Leaves Floating Down

August 2, 2017

Fall Leaves ~ Photo by Patrice

Leaves floating down
Falling, resting
Finally
On the ground.

No crash is heard
No weeping cry
Only silent sounds echoing
Throughout the sky.

My soul too
Does fall down
Reaching up, clasping pieces
To soften, the floating down.

Sounds Of The Earth Turning

August 1, 2017

Wild Horses ~ Scratchboard Illustration by Patrice

Sounds of the earth turning
Turning round
No disconnect, no what the heck
Just moving, slowly moving
Going round.

A Hummingbird Sings

July 28, 2017

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

A hummingbird hovers making sure its safe
To drink nectar that brings forth
A feeling of heaven’s gate.

A hummingbird’s wings sing as she flies
In between blooms sending scent promising
Just about everything.

A hummingbird’s nest of twigs and things
Babies so small
They are next to nearly nothing.

A hummingbird dodges leaves and flowers
On the hunt of insects nutritious there
Amongst other things.

But you know I don’t think
That I’ve ever heard
A hummingbird sing
Anything.

Heartbreak Takes The Mind

July 25, 2017
Tree Roots at Eugina Falls ~ Photo by Patrice

Heartbreak takes the mind
To places I wish I could decline
But instead I tread an uneven path
Cursing heartbreak all the way
Not understanding
This will change tomorrow
To be a happier place than all today.

Fingers Move Across The Page

July 21, 2017

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Fingers move across the page
Feeling emotions that do rage
Calming down anxious stress
With each word that is expressed.

Yes, fingers make anguish
Dissipate
As they move across
Caressing a waiting page.

The Lush Green Of Summer

July 19, 2017

Orange Lily ~ Photo by Patrice

The lush green of summer
Is contentment in lazy, hot days
Brief showers of warm shimmering
Summer rain.

Squirrels scurry away
Hummingbirds drink all day
Sun shinning bright in a clear blue
Summer sky.

All is right
As I lie
My eyes watching summer drift by.
