When You See The Greatness

August 14, 2020

Courageous Rottie ~ Watercolour by Patrice

When you see the greatness
The majesty
You’ll also see the power
And the glory.

No stone unturned
No path untread
No heart lying
Waiting in an empty, lonely bed.

All will be together
All will be suffice
To make this world better
To give this world life.

The Bird Flies

August 13, 2020

Flying Costa Rican Bird ~ Photo by Patrice

The bird flies
It’s wings glide across the sky

Floating on the breeze
Landing with grace and ease
To pick up food and drink

Then off onto
The invisible breeze
A friend, a mate flying next to her

Together, they’ll rule the skies
Up where all birds fly.

Memories And Experiences

August 12, 2020

Nurse Shark ~ Photo taken in Punta Cana

No one knows nor do I share
The experiences I’ve had
Way back
Way back there.

Memories remain unspoken
Words are held with care
Just in case those thoughts
Come out
Get spoken somewhere.

Let It Go

August 11, 2020

No I won’t, no I can’t
Nothing is that great
To fight all to get it back

Let it go, let it be
The sun will shine
Regardlessly

I know you know
I think you see
This to be true

In your heart, in your soul
Respectfully.

Cardinal Wondering ~ Photo by Patrice

Why has it happened
Where will I be
When oh when will it move on
To the past so far behind me?

Answers
Answers I don’t have
Answers I wish someone
Would share with me.

When I Was Lost

August 7, 2020

Costa Rican Sunrise ~ Photo by Patrice

When I was lost, nowhere to go
She was there
This I know.

Holding still
Sitting quietly next to me
Not on a chair
But a presence
I could feel, I could not see.

Quietly she spoke
Her hand reaching out
Caressing my spirit, my soul
This being called
Me.

She told of things
That would be
She told me I would succeed
She told me, she told me
Everything.

Her voice so calm
Her touch so light
Her presence it could light
The darkest night.

An angel perhaps
A passing soul, who knows
But by my side
She lived, she stayed
She goes.

I Feel Your Presence

August 6, 2020

Fall Leaves ~ Photo by Patrice

I feel your presence
I feel your breath
Warm and sweet
Upon my neck.

I reach for your arms
Your body most sublime
But empty handed
Here I stand.

I think I have lost my mind
My soul mourns
Wails a tale of sadness
Laughter gone.

Maybe tomorrow
I’ll join you
In the bye, in the already
Long gone.

Let The Grass Grow

August 5, 2020

Wildflowers and Grasses - Photo by Patrice

Let the grass grow tall and fine
The waters flow while ivies climb.

All is well for the sun glows bright
In morning’s wondrous light.

You Pick Me Up

August 4, 2020

Bull Riding ~ Photo by Patrice

When I fall
you pick me up
my life is saved

My heart
also
is picked up

Safe and serene
standing straight up
I feel your presence, I feel your love

And that’s when
I race
to another

who needs me
to
pick them up.

My New Pink Pen

July 30, 2020

My New Pink Pen ~ Photo by Patrice

My new pink pen

Flows along the lines
Leaving behind thoughts
Coming thru my mind.

My new pink pen

Laughs along the lines
Saying funny things
Leaving a smile on
My reader’s face.

My new pink pen

Doesn’t take no guff
It writes words needed
To tell the story right.

My new pink pen

Lays quietly on my page
Waiting for the words
To be created
Formed into lines
Sent out for all time.

My new pink pen

Has a mission
The reason she’s livin’
I give thanks for having

My new pink pen.
