When I hear those words
That melt my heart, make my tears cry
Filling up the world’s cup of gratitude
When I hear
Hear those wondrous words
I know I’m alive.

Feeling the anger, the pain
Of not being the answer
To what drains the life
From my world, my heart, my family
All that encompasses
Contains.
Could it be tomorrow
When things change, answers answered
The world full of laughter, families together
And nothing, no feeling
That everything is circling
A filthy, dirty drain.

Begging for the answer
Looking for the right
To make my life a difference
Far, far into the brightest day
The darkest night.
No one will answer
Justify or let it go
Me alone will climb
The altar’s steps
Me alone will be the one
To know.
~ Patrice

The world turns, it goes
Then comes back around
No breath is taken
Except on its sacred ground.
The future is hidden
The past is the past
Nothing now will forever
Last.
Turning slowly, turning fast
The world is ours
Hold on
It’ll be a blast.
~ Patrice

In these times of strife, anger, hatred and racism, maybe, maybe this is the answer.

Maybe together
We can master the stage
We’ve been put upon.
Maybe Together
We can find true love
And lasting memories
To call upon.
Maybe Together
We’ll reach out and find
The place, the kind that’ll propel us
To the next human sweetness
Human kind.
Together forever
Maybe together
We’ll find.

Feeling the heart pound
Listen
Listen to that sound.
Life is given, taken away
Only the heart moving
Signifies life breathes
We live
We live today.

Solely, I Miss the heart that beats
Leaving behind a foggy mist
Never to dissipate.
Answers few, mostly none
Moving forward
Emotions on the run.
Embrace and hold
Respect and see
Loving you meant loving me.

When I hear my heart
Pounding
My breath takes away
All the fear I had living
Past yesterday
My feet planted in heaven
My arms embracing love
Now I can face tomorrow
Knowing
I had you my dear
Sweet love.

Kindness borrows heaven’s sorrows
Stores them in a safe, grace filled place
Now gone from ladened brow
A smile crosses that once saddened face
Lifting up in hopeful praise
No more to see, feel or fear
Just held with kindness
In heaven’s grace.
~ Patrice

Wondering who is listening
Hearing my words
Speaking, understanding those
That they’ve heard.
Will I go on or say not a word
A quandary
I’m taking to heart
Without
Writing down a single word.
