Hear My Heart Call

Hear my heart call
Hear that quiet voice
Murmur words of love
Filling all with grace.

Hear my heart call
Words to ease the pain
Sounds made from
A sweet refrain.

Hear my heart call
I’m not alone
Forever with me
In all my journeys.

Hear my heart call
Listen, listen to that sound
Hear my heart
Hear my heart call.

I Feel

June 2, 2022
I Feel ~ Watercolour by Patrice

I feel your presence
I feel your love holding on
To the beauty that was ours

When you were the only one
I really loved.

Times have changed
Times are not what they were

Still, I feel your embrace
Your breath kissing me
Surpassing
All that time, that space

Till the day
We’ll be together once again
Once again.

Working Thru

May 31, 2022
Working Thru ~ Photo by Patrice

In the midst of working thru
What bothered me
In the dark, dead of night

Frightened, scary, morose
And all those things
That I need not care about
Nor harbour in my heart

Not now
Or in the still
Dead quiet of the night

No, I need not.

You Couldn’t Be

May 30, 2022
You Couldn't Be ~ Photo by Patrice

You couldn’t be
what I needed
wanted you to be.

No matter
how hard you tried
you couldn’t be.

You couldn’t be
all that I needed
desired you to be.

I see you couldn’t be
you couldn’t be.

I’ll Take A Stand

May 27, 2022

My Feet ~ Photo by Patrice

I’ll take a stand
And hold still
No breath will breathe
No heart beat
Only sounds are my feet
Standing still, holding fast
Protecting all
That must now last.

Then the gull cries
Mustering forces
That heed that shrieking call
Not forlorn, not alone
I stand, holding still
Upright, strong and tall
We’re together
And together we will conquer all.

My Heart Seems Broken

May 26, 2022
My Heart Seems Broken ~ Photo by Patrice

My heart seems broken
the world appears unfair
direction is lost
my world, my heart
are in
such deep despair.

It may be
tomorrow
the sun will shine
bringing healing, loving light
everywhere

But for now
in
this moment
all I feel is sadness, heartache
and
despair.
~ Patrice

My heart, my thoughts go out to those in Texas who have suffered such tragedy.

No one knows
No one cares
On we go
Pretending
Pretending we don’t care.

You Had Me At The Start

May 24, 2022
You Had Me At The Start - Photo by Patrice

You had me at the start
the start of the morning
the beginning of night.

You were with me
as I traversed treacherous waters
no saviour in sight.

I began to understand
how much I needed you
when all alone
in the middle of a terrible fight.

Now, with you alongside
I go thru the most dangerous times
coming out into
a magnificent, glorious light.

Procrastination, procrastinating

May 20, 2022

Spike ~ Watercolour Art by Patrice

Procrastination, procrastinating
Get it done now
– maybe

Guilty, guilty, guilty

See it done later
– maybe

In the meantime
I’m sure
– positive

I’m not lazy

Just don’t want to do it now
– too busy

If I put it off
I’ll always have something to do
– crazy

Procrastination, procrastinating
See it done later
– maybe.

A Home Is A Home

May 19, 2022
A Home Is A Home ~ Photo by Patrice

A home is a home
no matter the width, the size
treasured forever
lived in from birth
to the time you die.

Feel the gentle breathing
of timbers and frame
holding strong
in winter winds, torrential rains.

All are welcomed
with love, no despair
come
step into this home.

There you’ll share
laughs, great food
and
a glass of sweet cheer.
