The sun breaks
over a brown earth
Left as if dead from winter storms
But then
In the midst of all broke
Deemed dead and dying
Is a small green shoot
Emerging
Bringing life
To a winter weary land.
The warm sun gives life
Nurtures
The rising ones
Spring
Has come
As winter retreats
Only
On a later day
To blast
Blow once again.
The sun then rests
Satisfied
she has done her best
Thou
She too
Will be back
Tomorrow
To nurture, bring life
With a warm, radiating
Spring sun.

Done things
Differently
In retrospect
I know my life
Could have been
Changed drastically
But
In retrospect
Then I would not be
The person I’ve become
I need to be

Peeking thru the light
Breathing in the air
Magnificence is all I see
I need, I care.
No one else
Can do for me
What I need to do
Myself
One breath in, one breath out
Peering through the darkness
To the light
I need to walk, journey to
This is what life is all about.

That sees joy, laughter
In all that comes near
Before me.
Let me
Not
See the tyrant’s anger
The anguish of the beseeched
Who need.
No, make me
A place of quietness
Filled with pleasantries
For all that
Come to me, that I meet.
