First Snowfall Brings Brightness And Clarity

November 29, 2021
First Snowfall Brings Brightness And Clarity ~ Photo by Patrice

First snowfall brings
Brightness and clarity to my life
Looking at things covered in white
Sleeping now
Thru the winter night.

To awaken
All new, fresh and bright
Once spring’s breezes melt
This
Winter’s white.

For now I see oh so clearly
What the universe wants me to know
I’m part of all life,
All seasons
Spring, summer, fall
and
Especially winter’s white snowfall.

Been

Robin's Nest in Snow ~ Photo by Patrice

As I sit here thinking
Of what is to be
And been
My mind wanders to things
That have passed, have been.

There are no memories
As strong as those
That I’ve lived
Been part of
Those that have been.

Future dreams that I’ll be living
Won’t be nothing
Won’t be memories til
They’ve passed thru my living
Going into what has been.

No

November 25, 2021
No ~ Painting by Patrice

No words to say
None to convey love and understanding

No, nothing comes to mind
To articulate or define

No, nothing
Nothing comes to mind.

I Sit Here Wishing

November 19, 2021

I sit here wishing
What is
Could not be.

Hoping life
Would be a little gentler
Take pity on me.

Trusting it
Will get better
So all can be happy.

Doesn’t matter what I wish
Cause life is
What it will be.

Having A Hard Time

November 18, 2021
Having A Hard Time ~ Photo by Patrice

Having a hard time
For
I’m seeing the future
In a bleak frame of mind

Looking out onto trees
Dripping
As if crying along with me

My heart is broken
In
So much anguish and pain

I know
The sun will shine
Again

I know
I will laugh
Til
I cry once more

But until
That time comes
The future is sadness
All I see

A future bleak
Without you here
Near me.

Remember When The World Was Small

November 12, 2021

Old Tree - Boyne River ~ Photo by Patrice

Remember when
The world was small
Worries, cares were nothing
To speak of at all.

No crashing down
Of a market
Not really existing
Not at all.

No change in time
It just moved forward
Regardless of everything
Anything at all.

No mushroom cloud
No toxic smoke
No weeping, wailing
All lost hope.

Those were to come
But when
The world was small
None of that mattered
Not at all.

Total Failure

November 9, 2021
Total Failure ~ Photo by Patrice

Total failure
Is not an option
I’m taking

Maybe drawbacks
Maybe roadblocks on the path
I’m creating

Still I’ll stay
On my course, my dream
My yearning

And
When I arrive
I’ll realize

That I’ve been here
From
The beginning.

I Feel A Heart Beating

I feel a heart beating
Here in my own heart
I feel a sadness blue
I know I’ve lost a time
When I lost

Lost you

 Moved on
But every now and then
I think
And that’s when
I find myself

Missing you.

I Write The Words That Come

October 28, 2021
I Write The Words That Come ~ Drawing by Patrice

I write the words that come
I see them in their entirety
some are in colour
others grey
altogether they make
the words I write
I say.

Tomorrow
they’ll be different
they’ll say something I never thought of
not til that instant
when they came and I wrote
wrote what they told me
to say.

Holy Smokes, Holy Cow

October 27, 2021
Holy Smokes, Holy Cow ~ Photo by Patrice

Holy Smokes, Holy Cow
The world it turns
It revolves
But
Not around me
No
Not at all.

It may tomorrow
Or
The day after that
And
You know
I’m not sure
Where it turned
Way far back.

The only thing
I do know,
I see
Is that it turns
And
I take the ride
The ride for free.
