Holy Smokes, Holy Cow
The world it turns
It revolves
But
Not around me
No
Not at all.
It may tomorrow
Or
The day after that
And
You know
I’m not sure
Where it turned
Way far back.
The only thing
I do know,
I see
Is that it turns
And
I take the ride
The ride for free.

Horrors be
can’t take them
away
away from the head
they stay
mentally.
The body will heal
but
the spirit, the soul
keep
those things into
eternity.
We know we must
must let them
go
throw them away
don’t let them
crush
your spirit
your kind soul.
Today, just today
let them go
no more in your head
to fester
create dread
let them go, let them go
instead.

The world spins
Swirls around
How we stand up is
Extremely profound.
Not a sound is heard
It’s all underground
Just spinning thru space
How exciting
How profound.

Fingers trudge
across the page
feeling
the paper’s texture
smooth
hardly any grain.
Will the pen
fill the lines
printed
on this page
or
will it be vacant
unused
crumpled
thrown away?
Fingers hesitate
and then
pick up trusty pen
and say
words that fill this page
with all they want
need
to say.

My heart aches
Surrounded by people
who think me stupid
My heart aches
For these people have judged
convicted me of dumb behaviour
My heart aches
At the moment I see no alternative
it must be true
I have no saving grace, no saviour
My heart aches

Taking hold, making clear
the world has become
a place where
no one hears
the cries of those lost
those
that have disappeared
Bring them back, hold them dear
for it is up to us
to make our earth whole
where everyone has a path
can be heard and never again
disappears.

Living in the
Quiet
Listening to the solitude
Feeling all emotions
Surface.
Maybe tomorrow will be
Riotous
But for now living today
Where all is
Quiet.

Why Have I
Listened to the wind
Blowing in my ear?
Why have I
Tried to give back the gentleness
Life has served?
Why have I
Cried when a sad song
Comes on?
Why have I
Not always felt
That I belonged?
The answers to these questions
I don’t know nor can I tell
For they’re written on a slate
Hidden deep and very well.

When things become
Hectic
And out of place
Step back, deep breath in
Move slowly
At a snail’s pace.
The welcoming of plenty
The loss of all things
filled with empty
Can sometimes overwhelm you
Leaving only a place crazily
Hectic.
