I must listen
quietly
hear those words

Morning doves
are
such gentle folk
they don’t yell or scream
like
Blue Jays
cry
No, they simply
silently
move across the quiet sky
cooing softly
as
they sit
side-by-side.
I hope
I can be
like
a morning dove
kind and gentle
full
of
quiet love.

a cavern
so deep
My heart is swallowed up
by something
that
creeps
My eyes see only darkness
black
dense
so deep
My feet stumble
over rocks large
sharp
cutting me
so deep
Will I find my way out?

feel the sun’s rays
enveloping me
warming
me
making me know
I’m loved?
