A Flower

March 1, 2016

Dead Amaryllis ~ Photo by Patrice

A flower wilts
A flower dies
Its life with us
Has said goodbye.

No more joy to bring
Like it once did
All dead, gone
Done with it.

A flower dies
That had a life
Giving beauty, joy
In such a lovely life.

Now is gone but in out mind
We still see
A flower that once
Breathed eternal beauty.

The Bottom Falls Out

February 22, 2016

Wasp Nest ~ Photo by Patrice

The bottom falls out
That’s when I see
The dirty truth
That’s been hiding
From me.

I didn’t know
I couldn’t see
All that sordid, disgusting
Lying
Cheating on me.

Now I’m free
I can see
To help those in the same state
That once held
Imprisoned me.

Anger Still

February 16, 2016

Storm Clouds ~ Photo by Patrice

Anger still
Dwells in my head.

Rushing rage
Instead of quiet thoughts
Those not laid to bed
Ones none can quiet
Pushing thru
Shoving niceness
Out the door
Seeing red.

A cold blizzard
Filled with evil
The only thing in store.

Standing alone
Hurting head
Wrongs done
Festering
Boiling in my veins
Cursing
Spewing words of malice
Unprecedented dread.

Anger still
Still anger in my head.

I Had A Dream Last Night

February 12, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

I had a dream last night
Everything was alright
Making me think
I’ve done something right.

There were no reproaches
No “What if I had done?”
It was nice this recollect.

It made me feel
I could bask in the sun
Relax and display all I had done.

Sometime go back
Look at your life
See the positive
Forget the  strife.

Maybe then you’ll say
“I had a dream last night
And everything is alright.”

Anger Mounts, Consuming Me

February 11, 2016

Old House ~ Photo by Patrice

Anger mounts, consuming me
No help in sight, it seems
Not for me.

Then, I turn about
Then, I see
A world full of majesty.

Holding out a hand
A love envelopes
Consumes me.

Not a breath I take
Is it done on it’s own
Or just for me.

I am part of the universe
That holds, loves, surrounds
As it protects me

Then, I know
No anger mounts
Consuming me.

Why?

February 9, 2016

Why?
You ask.

And I give you
The question why?

Nothing is resolved
Nothing lies answered.

Only questions
Why?

Not Knowing

February 8, 2016

Robin's Nest in Snow ~ Photo by Patrice

Not knowing what will occur
Or sure what’s been done
Then
Slowly I realize I belong
To the world’s outcome.

I see the happy and good in all this
Despair
Giving joy for now I know
Going back or staying
I just can’t be there.

Feeling excitement
Seeing the future unfold
With sharing, giving love
Something right now
I know
I don’t know or hold.

May The Rain Flow Onward

February 5, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

May the rain flow
Onward onward
Into the river of life.
Onward, onward
To a place of no strife
Peaceful beauty
Take me in
Run over me
Cleanse my sin
Bask in the sunshine
Sleep with no fear
Beautiful rain
Flow
Onward from here.

I Heard You Sing

February 1, 2016

I heard you sing
Heard the bells ring
Sounds singing
Of blessed happiness
Transporting joy to me
To everything.

I heard you sing
A song so beautiful
Even silent bells
Did ring
Singing sounds
I too, now sing.
