Why Haven’t I

September 23, 2019

Credit Union Blue Water Poster ~ Art by Patrice

Why haven’t I seen
Your heart open up
Your voice speak
Soft, lilting words

Why haven’t I known
The place where all go
To be safe and unhurt
Why haven’t I?

I don’t know why
I haven’t been able
To experience all
Of these things.

I do know they exist
And know
Someday I’ll see all these
Beautiful, wondrous things.

Sadness

September 20, 2019

Carlos ~ Watercolour Painting by Patrice

Sadness lingers giving a sad taste
Mental anguish holds memories in
Sadness’s wake.

This too will pass in future’s time
Overshadowed
By weeping and sad crying.

For now I hold my sadness near
All that’s left
Of one life so dear.

Not Asking For Forgiveness

September 18, 2019

Palm Tree in Blue Sky ~ Photo by Patrice

Not asking for forgiveness
Not saying I am right
Just living life to the fullest
Able to rest, to sleep tonight.

You Don’t Know

September 17, 2019

Marten River ~ Photo by Patrice

You don’t know and I won’t tell
The secrets kept
That do dwell deep beneath the sky
In plain sight
But blind to the naked, uncaring eye.

See you when your heart opens up
Your eyes do speak
And your mouth remains shut
Then you’ll know
The secrets I speak about
Then we’ll laugh and dance about.

So Much To Say

September 16, 2019

So much to say
So little paper to write it
All out
What so many people are laughing
Talking about.

Suffice to say
When I find that scrap of paper
Filed somewhere
Yesterday
I’ll laugh and cry.

Because even then
I know there’s been
So much to say
So little paper to write it
All out.

Hearing The World Turn

September 13, 2019

Rising Fiddle Head ~ Photo by Patrice

Hearing the world turn
Is
A wondrous thing.

The magic of the morning
The breath of spring
Calling forth summer and all that it brings.

Fall’s bounty feeding
Getting ready for the cold of winter
Snowflakes hiding everything.

My breath goes in and out
Taking in all these things
That are about.

Raining Down

September 12, 2019

Freezing Rain ~ Photo by Patrice

The full and caring heart
Waits to hear
The sound of love
Raining down.

No drip, drop of seething hate
No frustration, anger
Making lonely roads
Seem so long.

Just love and caring
Gentle kindness freely given
No strings attached
No ‘What if’s’
None of that.

All we see, all we feel
Is loving
Caring, pleasant thoughts
Raining Down.

Too

September 10, 2019

Old Trans-Canada Road Skyline ~ Photo by Patrice

Nobody to take
No one to answer too
Nothing to be angry
Or grateful for
Too.

Speaking lightly
Smiling as I need too
Never responding to
Anything hateful, cruel
Or nothing I needn’t
Too.

I am moving to
The very edge of the world
I’m where
Where I need to be
Too.

Total Help Is On The Way

September 9, 2019

End of a Good Day ~ Photo by Patrice

Total help
Is on the way
No need to call upon
Yesterday.

Today
Will be suffice
Guiding you though
All obstacles
Standing firm, no cat calls.

So, just relax
Enjoy the time
It will all be unfolding
In rhythm
And in perfect rhyme.

When I Hear Your Voice

September 6, 2019

Puppy Love ~ Photo by Patrice

When I hear your voice
My being melts and does rejoice
Heaven, earth move a little closer
When I hear your voice.

When I hear your voice
No sudden happening
Is either sad or profound
When I hear your voice
I’m settled, I’m calmed down.

When I hear your voice
No heart is moved as much
No success can mean as much
As the sound of my world slowing down
When I hear your voice.

When I hear your voice
Feeling joy all around
When I hear
Hear your voice creating love
With it’s singing, wondrous sound.
