Heaven Help The Ones

May 24, 2018

Whales Tail Beach in Costa Rica ~ Photo by Patrice

Heaven help the ones
Who lead the march
Across desert bare
Filled with trees
But nothing there.

Smoking hot
The earth upon their feet
Sending curses up
To gaunt, hollow cheeks.

No one calls, no one speaks
All is silent
Except for wailing
Seeping, creeping sounds
Calling, calling souls
To their sad defeat.

Let us help
Let us find salvation for
Those who need
Those who cry unmercifully.

Let The Heart Beat Lightly

May 23, 2018

Eagle ~ Stipple Art by Patrice for B.C. Central Credit Union

Let the heart beat lightly
Let the soul sound loud.

Let its words be heard
Way beyond distant clouds.

Let no man stumble
Nor woman harmed.

Let us all soar
Leading lives that seem charmed.

We Live In

May 22, 2018

Old Farm ~ photo by Patrice

Amazing place
We live in
Soak it up, savour
Breathe in.

Feel the rain pouring down
The sun soaking in
To the ground fertile and prized
Growing treasures
Where creatures thrive
Live in.

We have it all
We are part of this place
This place, this world
We live in.

Husk Falls

Seeds, Tree and Squirrel ~ Photo by Patrice

Husk falls, dropping to the ground
Seeds of wonder spattered all around.

Dead or dying not necessarily their fate
Taking food, taking strength
From the earth, the ground on which
They were spat, they grow and create.

Slowly, quietly up to mighty trees
Strong and wondrous they unfold
Dropping seeds that too
Like magic wonder, grow.

Picky Partners

May 17, 2018

Mal pups ~ Illustration by PatricePicky partners don’t always last
Sometimes they bicker and fight
It goes on and on
For whatever reason it just
Lasts and lasts.

Picky partners need to let up
Knowing being together
Happily
Is what needs to
Forever last.

When I Find The Secret

May 16, 2018

When I Find The Secret ~ Photo by Patrice

When I find the secret
When I’m fine
When I find what’s behind
The smoke smouldering
Over a red black sky.

When I find my secret
That secret holding all
The answers
All the answers for
All time.

Stolen From My Heart

May 15, 2018

RIP Brave Barking Dog ~ Photo by Patrice

Stolen from my heart
A sense of love
Forgot
Got away.

Burdened with such
Array of emotions
Can’t hold back
Hold at bay.

Smouldering anger
Burning things precious
Held dear
Stolen, forgotten
Got away.

Tenderness And Wonder

May 14, 2018

Wood Violets ~ Photo by Patrice

Tenderness and wonder
A childlike holiday.

Smiles, kind gestures lead
Guide the way.

Laughter and hearty jokes
Make the hard an easy time
Almost like play.

No one falters
All are in
On their merry, lighthearted way.

Wondering Once Again

May 11, 2018

Study of hands and paint brushes ~ Illustration by Patrice for New Chalice Brushes

Wondering

Once again.

Wondering

What is best?

Wondering

If I’ll make the right decision.

Wondering

Will it affect the rest?

Wondering

What will come to be?

Wondering

What will happen to me?

– No answers come but still –

Still I’m wondering.

Wondering

Just the same.

Procrastination, procrastinating

May 10, 2018

Spike ~ Watercolour Art by Patrice

Procrastination, procrastinating
Get it done now
– maybe

Guilty, guilty, guilty

See it done later
– maybe

In the meantime
I’m sure
– positive

I’m not lazy

Just don’t want to do it now
– too busy

If I put it off
I’ll always have something to do
– crazy

Procrastination, procrastinating
See it done later
– maybe.
