My Birthday is near, yours was today
Without your birth
My heart wouldn’t beat
My eyes see
Or
My feet walk beneath
Blue skies and aside green seas
It’s so long ago
You ceased to be amongst us
But still
I feel your presence here
Inside/beside of me.
May we love, be forever
Mother – Daughter
Far
Far into eternity.
~ Patrice
Happy Birthday Mom!

The world spins
Swirls around
How we stand up is
Extremely profound.
Not a sound is heard
It’s all underground
Just spinning thru space
How exciting
How profound.

Rain came
And washed away
All the hurt, anger
I felt
Yesterday.
Leaving behind
Bright, refreshed
Ready to play
Thoughts
I have
Starting just today.
May they stay with me
All today
Going beyond
Into tomorrow
And
Into everyday.
This is my wish
My dream, my hope
When I see the rain
Wash away
All the hurt, anger
I felt
Yesterday.

Fingers trudge
across the page
feeling
the paper’s texture
smooth
hardly any grain.
Will the pen
fill the lines
printed
on this page
or
will it be vacant
unused
crumpled
thrown away?
Fingers hesitate
and then
pick up trusty pen
and say
words that fill this page
with all they want
need
to say.

I do write
I don’t sing
Praises
Of the sun, the moon
Nor spring.
The words are written down
One letter at a time
Maybe
In the future someone will
Sing
These words of praise
I bring.
Til then
They’ll stay
In my book, on my page
Written to be read
These words of praise.
~ Patrice

My heart aches
Surrounded by people
who think me stupid
My heart aches
For these people have judged
convicted me of dumb behaviour
My heart aches
At the moment I see no alternative
it must be true
I have no saving grace, no saviour
My heart aches

Patrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Fly away, fly away
The day is unfolding
The temperature’s cold
Not smouldering
Fly away, fly away
Come back
Amid spring flowers
For now is the time
Time to fly
Fly away, fly away.
~ Patrice

Hold me close
Don’t let me fall
Between the cracks
No not at all
Let me see beauty
Spreading far and wide
No divide
This is my wish
My sole cry
Hold me close
Let not
Our differences
Collide.
