Procrastination, procrastinating

May 10, 2018

Spike ~ Watercolour Art by Patrice

Procrastination, procrastinating
Get it done now
– maybe

Guilty, guilty, guilty

See it done later
– maybe

In the meantime
I’m sure
– positive

I’m not lazy

Just don’t want to do it now
– too busy

If I put it off
I’ll always have something to do
– crazy

Procrastination, procrastinating
See it done later
– maybe.

You Didn’t See

April 26, 2018

Monkey Head Rock in Costa Rica ~ Photo by Patrice

You didn’t see the things
I saw
Nor did you feel the feelings
That I felt.

Still in my mind
I know
You know what I saw
What I felt.

And you alone will bring me
To the place
A place
I’ve always sought.

My Deepest Sympathies

April 24, 2018

My Deepest Sympathies to the families, friends
All who know victims in yesterday’s horrific tragedy
My prayers go out to you
To the ones whose lives were brutally cut short
Those injured

For no reason.

No sane reason.

You are in my thoughts, my words, my prayers and my heart. ❤

Pathetic And Sad

April 23, 2018

Old House Window ~ Photo by Patrice

Pathetic and sad
He goes forth
The essence of bad.

No one curtails
No one dare tell
The evil one
He is going to wither
In hell.

He doesn’t know
It doesn’t have to be so
He could be happy
And glad.

All that’s required
Is to be open, generous
Considerate and mostly
Not angry, bitter
Or sad.

Trying To Make

April 19, 2018

Hollyhock and Bumblebee ~ Photo by Patrice

Trying to make
All my work complete

Make things tidy
Tidy and neat

Exhaustive work
Mental trying times

When and where
Did I get so much

So much to do
In so little time?

Every Morning

April 18, 2018

Whales Tail Beach in Costa Rica ~ Photo by Patrice

Every morning I open my book
Writing
The words given to me.

Every morning I think about living
Life
Free with courtesy.

Every morning I see
A different morning
One
I make it to be.

For Absolutely No Reason

April 13, 2018

Horse and Cowboy ~ illustration by Patrice

For absolutely no reason
I’m sent to the past
Made to remember things
I’d rather pass.

For no reason
They breathe life again
Making me remember
All over again and again.

The outcome is no different
The end is the same
For absolutely no reason
I remember again.

No Words To Say

April 9, 2018

Broken Robin's Nest ~ Photo by Patrice

No words to say on this terrible, terrible day
My heart, my thoughts are with you
Those who have lost so much.

Remember their laugh, their jokes
Their expertise in playing hockey
Winning, skating, scoring
Checking, hat trick touch
They did it all.

They stand with you still
Holding up, holding close
You, their folks.
Til you too can come
To their fantastic playoff game.

You’ll watch them score
No heartache anymore
A team unsurpassed
Watch them play
Winning in your hearts today
A love you’ll never lose
No more.
~ Patrice

My prayers are with you the family, friends, those who knew the ones on the Humboldt Bronco bus, whose lives were tragically cut short on Friday.
May they rest in peace and love. ❤

It Fell From The Sky

April 6, 2018

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Icicle Spaceship ~ Photo by Patrice

It fell from the sky
Crashed to the earth
A spaceship from somewhere
Maybe the past
Resting now
In a soft bank of snow.

Who knows who they are?
Where they’ve been
And where they’re yet to go
Now impaled
Stuck in the snow.

Will they go in reverse
Back to the sky
Disappearing from earth
In the dark of the night?
Going forth to the future
In a blaze of hot light?

Then again
They could melt into the snow
Part of the crowd, no one to know
Not born or raised here on earth
But from a place we don’t know.

There are those who’ll say
“It’s an icicle deep in the snow
Fell from the eavestrough
Succumbed to gravity’s pull”.

As for me, I just don’t know.

Yesterday

April 5, 2018

Misty ~ Watercolour Painting by Patrice

This day is today
It’ll be tomorrow
Yesterday.

Can’t live without it
Yet see it pass away
Becoming a time in
Yesterday.

No longer tomorrow
Now today I’m living
Yesterday.
