Sleepless night
Bringing early morning light
Restful peace eluding senses
Throughout the dark
The long, question filled night.
No answers come
Only questions filling, swirling
Round my exhausted mind
No time to sleep, to rest
To dream of better times.

Crises come
Monopolizing the mind
The spirit
Everything in the universe
Anything
Not tied down tight.
What has happened?
Why?
No answers come
Questions only
They hang in the frigid, cold
Unforgiving sky.
Do your best
Do what’s correct
What’s right
Maybe then the world will smile
Grass turn a brilliant green
And stars shine a guiding light
On everything.

The beauty, splendour
You talked about, you’ve seen.
Mine has been
A narrow kaleidoscope
Of all the things
Near and close to me.

You know, that’s enough
Enough for me.

Words have gone
Lost, forgotten, laying strewn
Across a uncaring lawn.
No time to pick them up
No time to remember
What has been forgot.
Words were said
Yet no one remembers exactly
Or just what.

In your hands
Bask in sunlight
Lighting all the land.
Never believe
Your life’s not worthy
For you are mighty
You are mighty grand.

Change my life as I know it
Must make no mistake.
Decisions I make
Will be what I live with
A lot is at stake.

When the world is laughing
And things are profound
Stand on their steps
Then lightly step down.
No holes will be barred
No one will curse or swear
Just jovial laughing
Not one bit of despair.
Hear the world laughing
Join the chorus of delight
Smile with pleasure
Let heartache take a hike.

Peaceful existence
Beauty in living a loving life
You can do it
