Anger Mounts, Consuming Me

February 11, 2016

Old House ~ Photo by Patrice

Anger mounts, consuming me
No help in sight, it seems
Not for me.

Then, I turn about
Then, I see
A world full of majesty.

Holding out a hand
A love envelopes
Consumes me.

Not a breath I take
Is it done on it’s own
Or just for me.

I am part of the universe
That holds, loves, surrounds
As it protects me

Then, I know
No anger mounts
Consuming me.

Why?

February 9, 2016

Why?
You ask.

And I give you
The question why?

Nothing is resolved
Nothing lies answered.

Only questions
Why?

Not Knowing

February 8, 2016

Robin's Nest in Snow ~ Photo by Patrice

Not knowing what will occur
Or sure what’s been done
Then
Slowly I realize I belong
To the world’s outcome.

I see the happy and good in all this
Despair
Giving joy for now I know
Going back or staying
I just can’t be there.

Feeling excitement
Seeing the future unfold
With sharing, giving love
Something right now
I know
I don’t know or hold.

May The Rain Flow Onward

February 5, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

May the rain flow
Onward onward
Into the river of life.
Onward, onward
To a place of no strife
Peaceful beauty
Take me in
Run over me
Cleanse my sin
Bask in the sunshine
Sleep with no fear
Beautiful rain
Flow
Onward from here.

I Heard You Sing

February 1, 2016

I heard you sing
Heard the bells ring
Sounds singing
Of blessed happiness
Transporting joy to me
To everything.

I heard you sing
A song so beautiful
Even silent bells
Did ring
Singing sounds
I too, now sing.

Why?

Deer in snow ~ Photo by Patrice

Why have I been brought to this spot?
Why do I live and exist while others have not?

Where will I go?

Who will I see?

Just what will become of me?

The answers not told at least not to me
But then if I knew

What would I do?

With that which is laid out for me?

In The Dusky River Silence Flows

January 25, 2016

Crossing at Nanticoke Creek ~ Photo by Patrice

In the dusky river silence flows
Flowers shimmer along the shoals
No one knows which way it goes
Only those that climb upon the shore
Reach for heaven and nothing more.

The deer, the doe drink their fill
Watching always for threats and still
They move with poise
Knowing others come, living life
Wherever the dusky, silent river flows.

Snow Is Falling Softly

January 22, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Snow is falling softly
gently down upon a cold
Hard  bitter ground
Unforgiving in this season angry
As we struggle to be warm.

Quietly snow covers all
That harsh, hard cold
Making soft and warm it seems
This landscape filled with cold.

Blanket all the world
In white beauty bold
There til spring
The ground does sleep
While we wait for warmth
To unfold.

Springing forth in vibrant colour
Joyous singing can be heard
May we rest in quiet winter
Tucked beneath a blanket white
Waiting for spring to tell us
This is the time to spring to life.

Let My Heart Feel

January 19, 2016

Mom and Twiggy ~ Photo by Patrice

Let my heart feel
The strain of loving
And losing again
The sorrow that follows
The crying that weeps.

Then let me feel
True love creep
Back into my heart, let it seep
With no sorrow nor crying
Or making me weep.
