Beauty Comes

Beauty

Beauty comes
Showering
Thru my window
Straight into
My waiting heart

No hesitation
Or startled start
Just
Calm enveloping
All that beats

Feeling love
Putting beauty
In
My beating heart.

The Rain Hides My Tears

August 27, 2020

The Rain Hides My Tears ~ Photo by Patrice

The rain hides my tears
The sun soothes my fears
My heart knows
This too shall pass
But
In the meantime
It lasts, it lasts.

A Friend Must Now Depart

August 26, 2020

A Friend Must Now Depart ~ Photo by Patrice

A friend must now depart
an angel holds her hand
guides her on the journey
she must start
no one wants this to be
but know she must go
as an angel takes her hand
guides her to heavens oh so bright

My friend must depart
a great sadness fills my soul
my hurting heart.

Knowing when to go
When to stop
This is the secret to a life
Not filled with wrought.

When I Was Lost

August 7, 2020

When I was lost, nowhere to go
She was there
This I know.

Holding still
Sitting quietly next to me
Not on a chair
But a presence
I could feel, I could not see.

Quietly she spoke
Her hand reaching out
Caressing my spirit, my soul
This being called
Me.

She told of things
That would be
She told me I would succeed
She told me, she told me
Everything.

Her voice so calm
Her touch so light
Her presence it could light
The darkest night.

An angel perhaps
A passing soul, who knows
But by my side
She lived, she stayed
She goes.

You Pick Me Up

August 4, 2020

Bull Riding ~ Photo by Patrice

When I fall
you pick me up
my life is saved

My heart
also
is picked up

Safe and serene
standing straight up
I feel your presence, I feel your love

And that’s when
I race
to another

who needs me
to
pick them up.

My New Pink Pen

July 30, 2020

My New Pink Pen ~ Photo by Patrice

My new pink pen

Flows along the lines
Leaving behind thoughts
Coming thru my mind.

My new pink pen

Laughs along the lines
Saying funny things
Leaving a smile on
My reader’s face.

My new pink pen

Doesn’t take no guff
It writes words needed
To tell the story right.

My new pink pen

Lays quietly on my page
Waiting for the words
To be created
Formed into lines
Sent out for all time.

My new pink pen

Has a mission
The reason she’s livin’
I give thanks for having

My new pink pen.

Pull It All Together

July 28, 2020

Teddy Bear Ripped ~ photo by PatricePull it all together
Make it the best
Don’t let the answer
Doubts
Beat upon your chest.

Breathe freely
Breathe with no regrets
For nothing else matters
Except, except.

I Don’t Know

Broken House ~ Photo by Patrice

I don’t know
What the heart doesn’t care
Buried in messed up
I sip from a cracked, broken cup
Tears run
My heart weeps
For the love, the mystery
That wasn’t mine
To keep.

Sitting Quietly

July 22, 2020

Rottie Sleeping ~ Photo by Patrice

Sitting quietly
Sitting
Just to be
No angry, no rushing
Not now, not me.

When the weather
changes
And storms blow fiercely
I’ll move, I’ll seek shelter
Til once again I can sit
Quietly.
